My Drama Final

So, our final for drama was to find an emotion we don't portray well, I chose bitter (If you know me, I'm never bitter AT ALL), and what we had to do was explore different levels of the emotion and write a monologue. Well not being a very bitter person, I could not think of a way to act bitter. Well, just recently I was cast as Titus Savage in "The Curious Savage" who just so happens to be quite a bitter character. Well, I took the opportunity to take this monlogue writing project as a character development as well and wrote this monlogue that could also be taken as a porlogue to the play. It is Titus talking to himself about what to do with his stepmother, who is the play's protagonist.

Titus: How could she?! She's sold over all those Savage Industries and used the money to set up a memorial fund? Where did she get the nerver? She's not even a Savage by blood. For god's sake, she wasn't even Father's first wife! Yet she thinks she has control over the whole Savage estate just because Father died! I'm his firstborn! I was around even before she took the Savage name! I should decide how the money is used! I suppose she thinks she was Father's favorite... That's it, Father loved her best! >Hmph< The way I see it she was Father's SECOND wife, therefore she's only second best! You hear that Ethel Savage? You're only second best! She'll regret this. No, no, she'll pay for this! (Groans) Some people would consider her insane for acting like this! Setting up a memorial fund for some of the stupidest reasons, and taking up acting-at her age! If I hadn't grown up with the woman, I'd think she was certifiably insane... That's it! (Picks up phone book and thumbs through) I'll have mother committed to an institution until she stops this foolishness! (Taps page in phone book) Hmmm... (Picks up phone and dials 0) Hello, operator?... Connect me with the Hotel Meurice in Paris, room 195... No I don't know the number... Yes, I'll wait... (Lowers phone) Mother locked up... This is perfect. (Raises phone back to ear) Hello, Lily Belle?... Have you ever heard of "The Cloisters"? (Stage goes black)
